Ya-hallo! Ren desu! Yoroshikune!
Hello internet, it’s
Ren! Before I begin my long-winded nonsensical introduction of myself, let me
say this:
At the moment, I have planned for this blog to be directed at one of my greatest passions being ‘anime’ and related shenanigans such as ‘manga’. Why am I doing this? Well, after having read a variety of blogs that are directed to anime, and having enjoyed (and completely refuted) the opinions of my many blogging peers, I must say that the fiery light of creativity and expression inside of me has been spurred to follow suit. That being said, this is my first time blogging, so it’s safe to say that I have absolutely no idea on the etiquettes of blogging or how this blog is going to unfold in the future. What I can say for sure is that this will be one hell of a journey which I want share with those reading this post and the posts to come (ie. You). So let’s traverse into the depths of the animanga universe, may it be just for a few days, weeks, or even years (who knows when the journey will end!).

Who am I? Well, if
there is one thing I want anyone to know about me, it’s that I’m a pretty lazy writer.

Watching anime is
one of my greatest passions and lifetime hobbies, and every season, it's
always fun to relax and enjoy the new shows Japan has to offer. I enjoy a wide
variety of anime genres ranging from the slice of life to action, however, with
that being said, I tend to veer away from certain genres which I shall not
mention. I’m quite picky in terms of animation quality, so most of the anime I
enjoy watching and will blog are those within the past decade. I’m sorry for
all those fans out there vying for the classics (Evangelion, Rurouni Kenshin, Cowboy
Bepop, etc) but if they do a reboot, like they did with Evangelion (which I
will watch when I get the time) I will definitely try to watch and maybe blog
about it. Another aspect about my personal anime life which I want to briefly
elaborate on is that unlike many anime watchers who follow, with fervor, the current
anime season and releases, I am always a season behind in that regard (although I’m still up to date with the news, gossip and the whatnot). The reason
for this is because I am not overly patient. I ca not stand waiting every week
for the next episode (cliffhangers are absolutely terrifying) and instead, I prefer
to marathon them instead. Personally, I think this is better for the anime
experience, but I understand that everyone’s experiences and preferences are
different. So in general, expect posts on the anime series of the current
season to be three months late or if it is two-cour, 6 months late, however,
who knows how things will turn out. I may change my mind and give weekly
viewings a go.
Anyways, there is
so much more I would have loved to write about in this introductory post but if
I were to do so, we would be here all day, so to spare everyone from paragraphs
of insane boredom, I guess I’ll have to wrap things up. Please take your time
to enjoy this journey and I hope that ‘our’ shared passion for anime will grow together.
El Psy Congroo!
